Marlton Nephrology and Hypertension provides the very best individualized care for patients with all aspects of kidney disease or hypertension.

One in nine Americans has chronic kidney disease. Early diagnosis and treatment of kidney disease can delay its progression and significantly improve patient outcomes and quality of life. Diabetes is the most common cause of chronic kidney disease in the United States, followed by hypertension. Optimal management of both diseases can limit kidney damage. There are many other causes of kidney disease, including glomerulonephritis, lupus and polycystic kidney disease. A simple blood test and urinalysis is all that is needed to screen for the presence of abnormal kidney function. A formula based on the blood test is used to stage the severity of kidney disease and establish a treatment plan.

Dr. Beckie Michael is board certified in nephrology and a hypertension specialist. She has over 30 years of experience treating patients with kidney disease and/or high blood pressure. FASN status represents recognition by the Society of outstanding credentials, high professional achievement, commitment to the field of nephrology, and demonstrated scholarship.

Dr. Michael is the medical director of Davita Marlton Dialysis Center. She sees patients with all types of kidney disease or difficult to control high blood pressure, including patients who require dialysis or are kidney transplant recipients. She is a member of Jefferson Transplant Network.
